We worked all morning and collectively wrapped some 500 gifts, many of which were also contributed by members of the Club.  Cornerstone Community Outreach proved to be a great partner, well organized and very helpful and supportive. Afterwards a bunch of us joined the President of Lakeview Rotary of a fun lunch at her husband's restaurant. 

 

This annual event is named for  former Rotary Near South Member,  Ginny Picken, who saw an opportunity to combine the power of Rotary volunteers with the connections of St. James and the generosity of Illinois Institute of Technology.  


The dinner has been conducted the Sunday before Thanksgiving for over a decade.  It is seen by the sponsors as a great way to celebrate our senior citizens and give them an opportunity to get out and about, thereby contributing to their health and well-being.  

The guests were entertained by Nanette Frank, a well-known jazz singer and her ensemble.  The dinner concluded with a free raffle and door prizes for all.
